Art Supplies Arrived Todayposted Dec 15th 2009, 7:02AM
Mood: Enthusiastic
Music: Simple Plan: Perfect
My new supplies arrived today, there wasn't much to it, just some replacement Derwent Graphic Pencils and a new Winsor and Newton 120gsm/60lb A3 Sketchbook.
It does however give me something to put in my Journal xD.
Currently working on a Cloud Strife picutre and it's driving me insane, I've reworked every part of the picture at least four times by now, and I've spent more than twelve hours on the picture so far, it's only A4 for gods sake "
Well, if it goes on much longer I'm going to have to put it to the side for a while, I still haven't even started the picture I'm giving to my Auntie for christmas, granted I did only get the photographs last nght but I'm also doing a peice of art from my Grandma, that one's going to have to wait until after christmas so I can use my Episcope to use some older photographs of my late grandfather, I'm sure she won't mind :)
Speaking of Episcopes I'm really looking forward to getting mine, my mother bought it me for christmas it's only a £70 model but she couldn't find one in Britain (if i'd known she was looking I could have given her a few sites that sell them lol) so she has had to order one from Germany. Ever since I found out that's what I'm getting I've been thinking up things I can do with it and ways I can improve it's usability, I've found a few hints on how to make it work with larger images (THAT is going to be useful) and I have been trying to figure out a way to get it to project images from my digital camera's viewfinder, still not sure if that is going to work or not o.O
If anyone has any ideas or experiences of Episcopes then please don't hesitate to leave a comment or get in touch with me!

Now for a more detailed bio of me as an artist:
Hey there, my name is Joseph Adams and I'm a Pencil artist from the UK, Atherton near Manchester to be more precise.
I've been creating artwork for as long as I can remember, my mother has a degree in fine art so I've been surrounded by her artwork and encouragement my entire life, she has been a great help in my art.
From about 2004-5 up until late 2009 I worked primarily in Digital Art, using Oekaki as my main medium but also working with Corel Painter and Photoshop.
I spent hours and hours every week creating artwork using my Wacom Graphire 4 tablet but I never seemed to get any better, I think it had to do with the fact that if I didn't like something I could clear it in seconds and start over from scratch.
When my Tablet pen broke in late 2009 and then I accidentally snapped the usb cable on my Tablet I found myself, for the first time in 5 or 6 years without a digital medium to work with.
I took this as a chance to move back into traditional artwork creation and since I started using good quality paper and pencils I have had no urge to get my tablet fixed (even though I have spent more on art supplies that it would have cost to get my tablet fixed several times over ).
I now spend hours and hours every week creating artwork that I actually enjoy, I can't just get rid of it and start over because I can only afford to buy 30 sheets of paper at a time and have to make it last, so I work, work and rework any peice that isn't working for me and almost always come out with a result that I find acceptable.
I am improving with each and every peice of artwork I create and am now thinking of trying to attend college to study art before moving on to university to study fine art, my high school art grade was terrible but hopefully the artwork I create will speak for itself.
I hope you enjoy my artwork and if you want to chat then just drop me a line!
